CityWatch (“we”, “us”) is a civic problem-reporting app that lets users report city issues on a map. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who processes it, and your rights.

1. Data we collect

2. What we do NOT collect

• We do not store payment card numbers — all payments are processed by Stripe.
• We do not use third-party advertising or analytics/crash-tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell your personal data.

3. Service providers

We share data only with processors who act on our behalf to operate the service:

• Stripe/Paddle — payment processing (email, name, user ID).
• Cloudinary — storage of report photos and videos.
• Resend — sending verification and notification emails.
• SMS provider — sending phone verification codes (SMS).
• Expo Push — delivering push notifications.
• Google & Yandex Geocoding/Maps — converting coordinates to addresses and displaying maps.
• Google Sign-In — optional login via Google.

4. Data security

• All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
• Passwords are stored hashed; they are never stored in plain text.
• Verification codes are hashed and expire after 60 seconds.

5. Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account in the app, or by emailing help@citywatch.live. Accounts enter a 30-day grace period and are then permanently deleted. See our Account Deletion page for full details.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal data, and control notifications, email digests, and profile visibility from within the app.

7. Children

CityWatch is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.
